Harris & Clapham

Offer only to you and nobody else: -

THE “LETS GO SPARE” BONANZA

You've managed to find your way here from The Forum on Pennymachines.co.uk so I imagine you know why you're here and what this is about.

If not, well just come along anyway, you can always have a laugh, eat a burger, give us your money and then bugger off home. We promise not to talk about you until you're at least 5 miles down the dual carriageway or have gone to explore The Attic on the other side of the car park.

What's What!

  • Nothing is priced, but you will be astonished at how cheap it all is (for example plastic award cards £5, metal ones £10, coin slides £1 each one. eBay currently want £40 for a set of four plastic ones!!!!) This is a no brainer!

  • Don't ask if we've got a WXYZ We really don't know what's there. Although we've already handled it all several times we're still astonished at what we uncover every time.

  • It's mainly Mills/Sega and Jennings, all through the ages. A smattering of Aristocrat and Jubilee with splashes of Watling, Pace and Buckley just for fun.

  • There are no shops near, but Derby City Centre is only half a mile drive up the road if SWMBO wants to take your Credit Card for a stroll.

The venue is the white building with 16 skylights. If you span out from there you will see how close the City Centre is by travelling North up the Osmaston Rd

    (A 514)

  • If you need to know if a part will fit a particular model of machine or coin, then bring that machine with you or the coin concerned.

  • The sale is aimed at the genuine collector hunting for that special bit, so buy what you need. If you want to hoard or own every example of one item, that's ok too. We shall allow individuals to buy bulk, or all that we have of an item after 2.00pm, but don't expect too much of a discount. The prices are cheap enough anyway. We have already been contacted by a Dutch collector who has offered to drive over and buy all that's left following this event.

  • Although the venue will be converted especially for the day, it is a commercial unit and for your well being you must observe all the usual and boring Health & Safety requirements expected. By being present you are deemed to have agreed to this and to be responsible for your own safety and those around you.

I'm sure there's a bunch more mindless waffle I should point out to you, but to be honest I'm getting bored now.

Just come along and enjoy the day.

If you're into slots and stay away, you will regret

it ….. This is the one and only chance you'll get.

Reel window frames & glasses, trim, Handle return ratchets, clock bits …..

NOS Escalator frames, handle pumps and an obscene amount of genuine gold sovereigns probably.

    Services

    Work

Slug collector tins, glass frames, coin overflow diverters, nos clock main gears and some stuff.

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

Catches & latches, Handle surrounds and ooh look! More bloody handle pumps.

Brand spankers bank bags, tokens, how many more slug tins do you need? and JP glasses.

Haven't a clue, but it looks like mech bases underneath at the bottom…..

All manner of Mechanism support castings and levers

Denominators, Clocks and Jack pot glasses

Locks and other things …….

Clips? Anti-slam gears , escalator glasses and case fittings.

Gallons of mechanism stuff, is anybody still reading any of this?

Gold Award mechanisms !!!!!

More awaiting investigation. The plastic Tuff crates may also be bought to carry your treasures away in.

Locks and what looks like Bally electric studs and wipers ~ transformers (probably deadly)

We've got more escalators than Harrod's

Real reel bundles and back bonnets

There's a couple or three of these top and bottom castings for The Extra Bell, I'm sure there's wooden sides and mechs plus a handle or two. Think I've seen the Award cards too.  These aren't likely to hang around

Even more Mills cash boxes and back bonnets

I've just had a very nice cup of coffee

Real bundles of reel bundles

Look at the dust on that box!

Mills case castings and a Walls Soft Scoop double sided tape ….. why? Anybody's guess!

Slides, but only a few thousand ……..

Odds on you'll recognise the above

Every year we get asked "Where can I get these from?" Now you know!

Some of these and a few of those, sadly it looks like we've run out of the others.

Inner case handle brackets

Who doesn't love the idea of a box with "Hello there!" written on it? The rest you can read for yourselves.

This looks like Aristo bits to me …..

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

Untold treasures … well nobody told me.

It's always the last place you look, am I right?

Somebody's going to get hurt in the rush, I'm telling you!

Wake up everybody! We've got to the springs.

…. and doors!

Award cards!!

And so it goes on …..

Wooden cabinet sides and thingies

Don't be fooled, these are mostly new and there are enough to paper your living room here.

Belly glasses and the like ………..

Mills Squiggly Keys and locks

Definitely coin entries and inserts there.

Boxes we haven't looked in yet and will open on the morning

OOH Yummy!

More coin tubes.

Strewth, more boxes we've not opened.

Buckley Award Bibs, pay out trays, early pay out cups and Mills top casting flashes.

Have I put this one in before? I recognise Mick's hand.

Jack Pots! So how many do you need?

Even more cash boxes~ right mixture here.  That looks like a Columbia on the right.

Reel Windows, bonnet catches and ooji~ma~flips, but only a few.

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

Four candles and a load of nobs …. missus.

Clocks, Look, so new the vanes are still straight.  By the way only, just over 20+ more photos to go, GULP!

Why are there so many pumps?

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

Giant Mills castings.  Each of these is over ten feet tall.  Yes I am bored.

Two Budgies, good talkers, no cage.

When the bed breaks I'll see you in The Spring.

There's a real gem in this photo, can you see it?      (If you don't want to play but still want to know that's a complete set of skill control levers on the right)

Oh look! ….. another set.

That coin entry and rotary escalator looks Pace to me.

Gold Awards, Pay out tray and a dead fly.

Keys, lock rings and hundreds more of the same.

Is there any end to how much fun there is to be had here?

Then suddenly you open a box and find these.

A trio of beauties, if I'm not mistaken

Are these Aristocrat Nevada replacement?

Cast cherries for adornment, but just how sad an expert are you?  Can you identify the black squares in the middle of the photo?  The first person to get back onto Pennymachines.com and correctly tell us will be awarded four for free on the day, given the bumps on the concrete floor and have "Huzzah" shouted down their ears!  Anyone called Harris or Clapham are not allowed to enter.

Who's interested in a couple of Buckingham badges?

The only loose top boxes we have, so only £15 each. Just to get them out of the way.  You could ask £50 each on Fleabay.

Electrickery hurting machines.  Probably Sega, nothing to go wrong on these, you might have to change the ballast boxes and/or the starters after you've put new tubes in and rewired them, otherwise they're perfect!

Oh yeah …. Complete mechs, I nearly forgot about these, and another fantastic handle.

Hell's Teeth! Who was standing in front of this box of springs.  I thought I'd captured them all ages back.

Cast Cherries and oodles of locks.  I wonder if any of the Mills Squiggly keys from half way through will fit those four locks?  Also, is that a door for a manual JP reloader?  I think it might be you know.

An empty ScrewFix box. Oh, and a couple or so empty cases, which if you've been concentrating you will have noticed wouldn't be difficult to fill … wink ….. wink.

Discarded heads and bodies for dystopian robots … probably.

Actually there are three bandit stands to be rehomed, but I couldn't find the third.  I later realised I'd been standing on it to photograph the others, DOH!

Now five days ago when I started listing this lot, I did say there were a couple more of these Extra Bells and I thought they had cabinets etc. Guess I was right.

Post Orgasmic After Glow

Well, there you have it.  Before I thank my parents and everyone who voted for us, there is one last "Can you find the …." opportunity.

The first to get back onto www.pennymcachines.co.uk forum and tell us where the Bryans corner casting is sitting can dip into the box of tokens they choose and walk off with as many tokens as they can grab with one hand.  Runners up can use two hands and whoever is last can have the bloody lot.

This sale will be referred to for many years to come.  Aficionados will go dreamy eyed and comment along the lines off …….

I was there!

What were they Thinking off?

I was still able to buy loads of it off eBay the following week for only three times as much!

So we'll finish as we started.

This event is to allow the late M. Harris Snr to be remembered for all of the help he gave so many of us and so unselfishly. All his efforts were for the hobby and not for profit.  We feel sure this is how he'd have wanted to see it end.

BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!
